Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK)
This project captures stories of bush tucker and bush medicine from Indigenous Central Queenslanders, with a focus on recording living knowledge before it is lost.
Filmed on Country, the work centres Elders and community knowledge holders who carry detailed understanding of plant use, seasonal indicators, ecological balance and healing practice. These are not abstract concepts. They are lived systems of knowledge embedded in landscape and culture.
The TEK project recognises that traditional ecological knowledge is intellectual, spiritual and practical. It reflects sophisticated environmental stewardship and intergenerational responsibility. By documenting these stories with consent and cultural governance, BushTV contributes to a growing archive of Indigenous-led ecological knowledge for future generations
